Many Europeans, have with high hopes of fame and
fortune, packed a bag and headed west towards the USA. Gil did the
opposite: With his guitar and a few possessions he left Oregon, USA 20
years ago , and went east towards Norway, Europe.
Marius Müller took him on in his first band project "Små Hender" in
1981-1982. Gil formed "Oslo All-stars" in 1986 together with musicians
like Knut Reiersrud, Eivind Aarset, Atle Bakken, Ole Giørts, Jørunn
Bøgeberg, Bjørn Jenssen og Elg.
With his characteristic appearance, captivating music, large portion of
humor, and his spectacular show, he has obtained many loyal fans all
over Norway. In 1999 he released his album debut "Can't give it up"
which sold a respectable 8000 CDs in Norway, and I played bass on this
album.
Gil's music has been classified as Alternative Country, or No
Depression. This music is much rougher and more rock than ordinary
country.
Gil Edwards and "The Love Jokers" have been in the Krypten studio in
Trondheim, Norway , with the Norwegian producer Ulf Riisnes (Tre Små
Kinesere), recording his new CD, “Mayday Situation which was
released in 2006. His website: http://www.giledwards.com/

& Vocals. |
